Build one useful feature at a time
A simple expense flow: enter, save, and confirm.

A useful feature starts with a specific task. Before opening the editor, I write down what someone should be able to do when the work is finished. If that requires several unrelated steps, I reduce the scope.
Start with one clear outcome
For a personal finance tool, the first task could be recording an expense. The initial version needs an amount, a date, and a way to save. Dashboards and predictions can wait until that basic flow works.
Make the feedback visible
After saving, the interface should confirm what happened. Show the new entry and a short confirmation. If saving fails, keep the information already entered and explain how to retry.
Leave room for the next iteration
Once the basic flow works, review where someone hesitates. Add the next feature when it solves a specific problem. Keep each change small enough to test independently.
